Most tools store what was said as searchable text. That answers “find the word pricing,” not “what did we decide about pricing, who owns it, and when.” Meeting memory models the meeting as typed records — a decision, an open question, an action item, a statement, a topic — each with attribution and a timestamp, linked across every meeting they touch.
The difference matters most for agents. An agent can act on a record — open the ticket for an action item, flag a commitment that slipped — where it can only guess at a search hit.
